Do we need to seal our grout?
Yes, grout is porous. If not properly sealed it will absorb dirt and stain very rapidly. Even with very good sealer, stains will set in. Sealer only allows you reaction time to clean up the surface. We do recommend sealing the grout. This will prevent stains from reoccurring but not stop it all together.
Our grout is discolored. Some areas are dark some are light. Can we regain an even color?
Yes, with grout colorant we can go from light color to dark or dark to light. Uneven grout color can be
repaired. There are many different colors to choose from, or we could probably match the existing color.
How long will colorants last?
10 years or more if using the appropriate cleaning method.
How do you remove grout if re-grouting?
We remove grout manually to ensure low levels of noise and dust. Power tools can make a huge mess. We don’t want this to happen. We use a scraper with diamond blade to remove it. It takes time and a skilled technician in order not to damage the surrounding tile.
How long before I can use my shower? How long before we can walk on it?
At least 24 hours after grouting.
How long will the project take?
Depending on the size of the project, it could be 1 or 2 days. But usually it can be done in 1 day.
What should be used to clean our tile and grout?
It should be a cleaner with a neutral ph. Cleaners containing chlorine are not recommended. They slowly eat away at the grout and damage the tile. Pink solution is a very good product. Check www.Pinksolution.ca to find locations where you can find it.
Why do you recommend a new installation if you are a repair company?
As much as we like to restore and repair to make people save money we also have a lot of pride
in the work we do. Sometimes damages are too extensive for repair.
We have cracked grout on the floor upstairs. It’s not part of the contract can you fix it?
Yes we can. Depending how long it takes there may be a small extra charge.
